Founder's Biography

Entrepreneur, technologist, digital leadership consultant, business films producer / writer, Michael Amigot is CEO at IBL Studios, Founder of IBL NEWS and IBL Post. (LinkedIn updated profile).

Amigot comes from a distinguished background in media, video & film, technology and entrepreneurship. Amigot’s career started in financial and economic journalism, his byline appearing in Expansion, Dinero, La Economia 16 and Ya, with regular stints as a radio and television commentator.

Despite his success in the media, in the early 1990s Amigot started using his experience in the service of corporations. He founded a company called Information Marketing Strategies that spearheaded corporate magazines and advised companies on their PR strategies.

With the advent of the Internet, Amigot turned his entrepreneurial efforts toward the creation of online businesses. He founded the first Internet newspaper in Spain, LaBrujula.net. The dramatic growth of this enterprise earned him an Internet Man of the Year nomination in 1998, and references as the “voice of the Internet” and the “Spanish Bill Gates” in the European press.

LaBrujula.net would eventually become the present day IBLNews.com (an online newspaper in Spanish with a large U.S. Hispanic and Latin American readership). In addition to providing conventional news, IBLNews began to explore the possibilities for Internet video news. Recognizing that the Internet would trend strongly in the direction of video, Amigot and his team of engineers began the development of software and tools for delivering video online.

Amigot’s commitment to the online technology sector would lead him to the US in early 2000. In New York, he founded Amigot Corp, a company committed to providing exclusively designed Internet video software and solutions. In light of the great inventiveness of this new company and its early work with corporations like IBM, Intel and Vodaphone, Amigot was named one of the 500 most influential Spaniards for four years in a row.

Today, IBL Studios is emerging as one of the leading companies in the social media revolution. Michael Amigot’s expansive experience in the media, video & film, technology and corporate sectors makes him an ideal leader in this new field. IBL Studios provides video content as well as dynamic new technology to its clients — custom-designed technology to meet and advance specific business goals and Internet strategies.
